Experience
Ethan James is a corporate partner in the firm’s Financial Institutions Group and a member of the firm’s Securities Group. Mr. James advises on corporate and transactional matters involving insurers and reinsurers, with an emphasis on capital management transactions. He joined the firm from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where he was a lead advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the U.S. Department of Treasury in connection with the government’s support of AIG. He has also advised on the regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions and restructurings, and has worked on insurance-related structured transactions, including catastrophe bonds, hybrid securities and reinsurance arrangements.
