Experience
Sarah Fitts is a corporate partner, a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group. She works in the U.S. and internationally advising clients on M&A transactions, projects, and restructurings, with particular experience in joint ventures and other multi-party governance arrangements. She is recognized by Chambers Global (2013), The Legal 500 US (2012) and praised in Chambers USA (2013), where peers say they "think very highly" of her and who is praised as having a “sterling reputation for her extensive experience in M&A transactional, restructuring and projects work.”
Ms. Fitts is a Vice Chair of the Renewable and Demand Energy Resources Committee of the Section on Environment, Energy and Resources of the American Bar Association, a member of the Leadership Council of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and a board member of the Urban Teaching Corps. Ms. Fitts chaired the New York City Bar Association’s Asian Affairs Committee from 2007-2010. Ms. Fitts is Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a director on the board of Scenic Hudson. Ms. Fitts served on the board of The Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter, Inc. from 2000-2009 and is a recipient in 2010 of the Celene Marcus Community Service Award.
Ms. Fitts received her B.A. magna cum laude in History and Oriental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, her M.A. in East Asian History from the University of Pennsylvania also in 1987 and her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1990. Ms. Fitts reads and speaks Japanese.
