Experience
Hugh Rowland, Jr. is a member of the Tax Department whose practice encompasses a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, financings and joint ventures as well as providing multinational corporate tax planning and resolving US tax controversies for multinational corporate clients.

Mr. Rowland is the author of “British Multinationals Braced for a Double Dutch Tax Threat,” The London Times (February, 1993), author of “Application of U.S. Jurisdictional, Tax and Securities Laws and Principles to a Foreign Joint Venture Partner,” Int’l Co. & Com. Law Review (March, 1991) and has contributed to other legal periodicals.  He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Mr. Rowland joined Debevoise in 1967 and became a partner in 1975.  Mr. Rowland received his B.A. from Yale University in 1963 and his LL.B. from Yale Law School in 1967.  He also received a Diplôme from the University of Strasbourg (France) in 1965.
