Fitts has been named one of the New York Law Journal’s 2016 “Lawyers Who Lead by Example.” Ms. Fitts is being honored in the Public Service category for “demonstrat[ing] leadership through [a] career in public service or devotion to improving the legal system and the profession in New York.”

Ms. Fitts is a member of Debevoise’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group. In addition to her active practice, Ms. Fitts has long been committed to public service and serves in numerous pro bono organizations and bar associations. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, including advising the Global LPG Partnership, an organization dedicated to solving one of the most intractable human health, climate and energy challenges in the developing world, the Global Development Incubator, and Harvard Law School in its “Free the Law” project.

She also serves as the North American Regional Representative of the Power Law Committee of the International Bar Association and is the Chair of the Renewable, Alternative, and Distributed Energy Resources (RADER) Committee of the Section on Environment, Energy and Resources of the American Bar Association. In addition, she is a member of the Leadership Council of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE).
