Debevoise Attorneys Contribute to ISAO Effort to Better Defend Against Emerging Cyber Risks

30 September 2016

The ISAO Standards Organization today released an initial voluntary set of guidelines to promote more robust and effective information sharing and analysis related to cybersecurity risks, incidents, and best practices. The guidance released today was developed with the support of more than 160 industry experts, and is intended to allow organizations and individuals to better defend against emerging cyber risks.

Debevoise Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice partners Luke Dembosky and Jeremy Feigelson, with assistance from associate Benjamin R. Pedersen, served as the Governance Team Leads for the ISAO Creation Working Group, which was charged with creating these advisements. The Working Groups solicited comments and feedback from public online meetings, in-person public forums and Request for Comment periods. These Working Groups carefully considered the input received through an open and transparent consensus-based development process.

The ISAO guidelines, available here, were developed in response to Presidential Executive Order 13691, which recognized the importance of promoting private sector cybersecurity information sharing.
