Debevoise Adds New White Collar & Regulatory Defense Counsel to Washington, D.C. Office

3 January 2017

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP today announced that Arian M. June has joined the firm as a counsel in the Washington, D.C. office as a member of the White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group.

Ms. June focuses on complex and high-profile government and internal investigations, having represented financial institutions, publicly traded companies and senior executives in matters involving allegations of securities fraud, insider trading, accounting and corporate disclosure issues, violations of the Bank Secrecy Act, cyber-intrusions, and mortgage fraud. Ms. June also has substantial experience in defending against claims stemming from Dodd-Frank Act’s whistleblower protection regulations. She was most recently a counsel at an international Washington, D.C.-based firm.

"We are delighted to welcome Arian to the firm,” said Mary Beth Hogan, Co-Chair of Debevoise’s Litigation Department. "Her extensive experience helping clients navigate SEC enforcement matters of all types makes her a perfect fit and her particular expertise related to the SEC’s whistleblower program builds on our strengths in this area.”

“I am excited to join the Debevoise team,” said Ms. June. “As 2017 ushers in a year of potentially significant regulatory changes, I look forward to working alongside a group of highly talented and accomplished lawyers to help clients carefully navigate an increasingly uncertain environment.” Ms. June joins an already busy and premier White Collar & Regulatory Defense group. Her addition bolsters that practice and continues the firm's long tradition of attracting and developing top women litigators. As Benchmark Litigation noted in its 2015 edition, quoting a competitor, "There are some tremendous women litigators in this town…The trouble for the rest of us is half of them are at Debevoise.”

“At Debevoise, we’ve long believed that our collaborative culture and the fostering of diverse perspectives are essential keys to developing the next generation of women leaders, like Arian,” added Ms. Hogan.

Ms. June received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she served as a Senior Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. She earned a B.A. cum laude at the University of Maryland.
