The Washington, D.C. office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, a New York-based international law firm, was opened in January 1982.  The office has 35 lawyers, including seven partners, who concentrate in several practice areas.

The securities litigation and enforcement practice handles securities class action and derivative litigation and a wide range of business regulatory and corporate governance matters.  These include corporate counseling, regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings and internal investigations.  The white-collar criminal practice focuses primarily on the representation of domestic and foreign clients directly or indirectly involved in criminal proceedings.  And, the commercial litigation practice represents corporate and individual clients, including Fortune 100 companies, in such areas as securities, professional liability, insurance and other commercial disputes.
