Debevoise Named Law Firm (Fund Formation) of the Year in North America and Law Firm (Transactions) of the Year in Asia by Private Equity International

Firm Honored for Eighth Consecutive Year
Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has been named Law Firm (Fund Formation) of the Year in North America and Law Firm (Transactions) of the Year in Asia by the Private Equity International Awards 2010, presented by Private Equity International magazine and PrivateEquityOnline.com based upon an annual global readers’ poll. This marks the fifth time since 2003 that the firm received a top award in the North America category and the fourth time since 2005 that the firm received a top award in the Asia category. Debevoise was also honored as the Best Law Firm (Deals) in North America for 2006 and 2004.
In its award citation, Private Equity International notes that Debevoise "kept busy with numerous fund launches in 2010, including secondary- and distressed debt-focused private equity funds" and that in Asia, "High-profile deals Debevoise advised on in 2010 included AIG’s $2.16 billion sale of its Taiwan Nan Shan Life unit to a consortium led by local conglomerate Ruentex, and Baring Private Equity Asia’s investment in Hyderabad-based Coastal Projects, a deal reportedly valued at $60 million."
