Barbara Robinson Appointed to NYC Commission on Women's Issues

On December 16, 2002, Partner Barbara Paul Robinson was appointed to be one of thirty Commissioners to the New York City Commission on Women's Issues. The appointments were announced by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
The Commission on Women's Issues (formerly the Commission on the Status of Women) was established by Mayoral Executive Order in 1975 as an advisory body to the mayor on matters impacting the lives of women in New York City. The Commission also oversees the agenda and activities of the Women's Advisors Program, also established in 1975, which promotes equal rights and opportunities for women in city government.
Health, child care and economic development have been identified by the Commission as three main areas of concern that will become the basis of the its initial platform. The Commission will educate the public and help strengthen the network of organizations in the public and private sectors working to expand career and other opportunities for women.
