Blaise Matthews is an associate in the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group, resident in the London office. His practice focuses on high-value international arbitration and commercial litigation.
Mr. Matthews represents clients in complex international commercial disputes across a range of sectors, including the pharmaceutical, financial services and shipping industries. He has experience of international commercial arbitrations under the auspices of the ICC and UNCITRAL rules. Mr. Matthews has also advised clients in litigation proceedings in the Courts of England & Wales.
Mr. Matthews joined Debevoise as a trainee solicitor in 2016 and completed his training in the London office. He graduated from University College London in 2015 where he received an LL.B. with first class honours. Between 2015 and 2016 he completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP University, London. Mr. Matthews currently sits on the firm’s London Diversity Committee.
Mr. Matthews was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2018. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Mr. Matthews worked in Westminster as a parliamentary and political advisor.
