- For advising Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in its acquisition of GE Capital’s sponsor lending business for $12 billion.
- Obtaining payment in full for EM Ltd.—over $849 million—against Argentina in the long-running litigation over the country’s 2001 default.
- For advising Opportunity International in its sale of a majority stake in Kinshasa, a microfinance institution operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to VisionFund International.
In 2014, Debevoise was a first-prize winner in connection with the firm’s representation of Verizon, in its acquisition of Vodafone Group’s 45% stake in Verizon Wireless for $130 billion and a first prize winner in connection with the firm’s representation of Eutelsat Communications in its acquisition of Satélites Mexicanos for $1.1 billion.

2016 Secondaries Deal of the Year EMEA
Debevoise advised HarbourVest Partners in its £806.6 million acquisition of the investment portfolio of SVG Capital, a publicly listed investment fund. The acquisition followed an initial £1,015 million takeover offer by HarbourVest Partners for SVG Capital.

Debevoise was named “Law Firm of the Year (Transactions)” in North America.
2014 Law Firm of the Year
Debevoise was named “Law Firm of the Year (Transactions)” in North America and “Law Firm of the Year (Fund Formation)” in Asia at the Private Equity International Awards.
AVCI Private Equity and Venture Capital Awards
Debevoise advised on the “Fundraising of the Year–Large Cap” at the 2015 AVCJ Private Equity and Venture Capital Awards. Baring Asia Private Equity Fund VI, which was heavily oversubscribed, held its third and final close on February 24, 2015 with $3.98 billion in commitments. It is believed to be the largest private equity fund ever raised by an Asia-based manager.
