Akima Paul Lambert is a litigation international counsel and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and International Dispute Resolution Groups. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
Mrs. Paul Lambert joined Debevoise in 2015.
She received an MA (Hons) from the University of Cambridge (Clare College), a Maîtrise en droit comparé from the University of Paris II (Paris- Assas) and graduated with a distinction in International Law from the London School of Economics.
Mrs. Paul Lambert is part of a team advising a leading plc in proceedings arising from the $1 billion clean-up of the Fox River in the United States and the associated recovery of over $800 million in dividends. She is also advising the Government of Grenada in an ICSID arbitration arising out of reforms to the electricity sector as well as advising one of the leading oil and gas field service contractors in Russia and the CIS.
Mrs. Paul Lambert is ranked as a Rising Star for Commercial Litigation in The Legal 500 UK (2020) which describes her as “a pleasure to work with, client focused and very responsive.” According to Benchmark Litigation Europe (2020), Mrs. Paul Lambert is “professional, brilliant and dedicated to the task,” and “a very responsive and diligent lawyer” who is “very capable of handling complex matters and always delivers what she promises.” She was also nominated as a Rising Star in the Thomson Reuters 2014 UK edition of Super Lawyers. Her publications include “High Court Declares Arbitration Notice Invalid,” ICC Dispute Resolution Bulletin (2018, Issue 1) and “The Financial List: an early assessment,” Butterworths Journal of International Banking and Financial Law (October, 2016).
Mrs. Paul Lambert completed a fellowship at the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative in 2008 and was one of the youngest awardees of United Nations Global 500 Award for services to the environment. She is significantly involved in pro bono and has worked on and co-ordinated a range of pro bono matters in relation to international economic development and human rights. She is also one of the London Co-Editors of the Debevoise Women’s Review.
Mrs Paul Lambert co-leads a team which provides regular updates and offers advice on Brexit preparedness.
Mrs. Paul Lambert is admitted as a Solicitor Advocate in England & Wales and is also admitted to practise in New York. She is fluent in French and conversant in Spanish.
