Alexander Weinman is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group whose practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds. Mr. Weinman is also a member of the firm’s Alternative Assets Transactions and Liquidity Solutions Group, advising clients on non-traditional fund-related transactions.
Mr. Weinman joined Debevoise in 2019. As an evening student, he received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2017, graduating summa cum laude and ranked 1st in his class. He sat on the editorial board of the New York Law School Law Review as an articles editor and is the recipient of the Trustee’s Prize, Elsberg Prize, Joseph Solomon Award, Henry J. Wolff Award, and Milton S. Gould Award. He also worked as an assistant editor for the Civic Research Institute’s Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University in 2012.
Mr. Weinman is the author of Cross-Border Equity Swaps: Treasury’s Revised Regulations Under Section 871(m) and the New Substantial Equivalence Test (Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions, Summer 2017), and The Nonprofit Commercial Enterprise: A Vehicle for Foreign Investment (New York Law School Law Review, Vol. 62).
