Allison Lau is a litigation associate and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. She has experience in commercial litigation, international arbitration, contentious regulatory matters and investigations, contractual and insolvency disputes, and matters involving competition law issues.
Ms. Lau has experience representing listed companies, multinational corporations and individuals in complex multi-jurisdiction disputes and investigations. Ms. Lau also has extensive experience representing and working with leading international banks, including on proceedings and contentious regulatory matters involving investment and wholesale banking, listed securities, OTC derivatives and structured products. Prior to joining Debevoise, Ms. Lau also worked on the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry in Australia.
Recommended in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation section of The Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2020), the guide has described Ms. Lau as “very personable, good on detail and technical knowledge, and excellent at keeping clients informed.”
Ms. Lau joined Debevoise in 2019. Prior to joining Debevoise, Ms. Lau worked and completed her training contract with a leading international law firm in Hong Kong and had the opportunity to work in London and Australia. She also completed secondments to two international banks. Ms. Lau was admitted to practise as a solicitor in Hong Kong. She received an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Bristol, and PCLL from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Ms. Lau is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
