  • Interview Process

Debevoise’s Moscow office offers internships to law students in their fourth year of bachelor program and law students in their first or second year of magistrate program. As an intern, you will be part of a dynamic team of prominent lawyers, recognized for applying their extensive knowledge, experience and skills to providing top-quality legal advice and support to prominent Russian and international establishments.

A successful candidate for an internship position with us is expected to:

  • be law students in their fourth year of bachelor program and law students in their first or second year of magistrate program;
  • possess excellent academic results in civil and private law subjects; and
  • possess a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English.

Participation in law student conferences, competitions and other extra-curricular activities and publications relating to law would be a plus.

Subject to the requirements of a candidate’s university program, an internship with us might count as pre-diploma practice.

  • your CV, in English;
  • an application letter, in English, stating why you chose to pursue a career in the legal profession and why you want to secure an internship position at Debevoise;
  • a scanned copy of your student record book or academic transcript; and
  • copies of awards or certificates you have received in connection with student conferences, competitions or other extra-curricular activities and copies of publications by you (if any).

You will have an opportunity to meet representatives of the Debevoise’s Moscow office during the Career Days at Universities.

You might also have a chance to meet Debevoise partner, Alyona Kucher, at Moscow State University, where she lectures as an associate professor in the civil law department.

Our interview process includes a law test and in-person interviews. The selection process takes approximately one month.
