Laurence Hanesworth is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets and Private Equity Groups.

Mr. Hanesworth’s practice focuses on private and public M&A, with particular experience advising private equity clients. This has included advising on significant cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, minority and control investments, secondary and co-invest transactions and private equity.

Mr. Hanesworth also regularly advises on capital markets matters, including a range of equity and debt offerings. In particular, he has experience advising Russian issuers in global offerings, with special focus on listings and other capital market transactions. Mr. Hanesworth has spent time working in the firm’s Moscow office.

Mr. Hanesworth is a co-author of “UK Proposals to Reform Listing Rules to Attract SPACs and Technology Companies,” Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance (May, 2021) and “Debevoise & Plimpton Discusses FCA’s Reforms to UK’s IPO Process,” The Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog (November, 2017).

Mr. Hanesworth joined Debevoise as a trainee solicitor in 2014. Mr. Hanesworth graduated from King’s College, London in 2012 with an LL.B. (Hons). He completed the LPC at BPP Law School in 2013.

Mr. Hanesworth was admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2016. Mr. Hanesworth is fluent in Spanish.
