Richard Lawton is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Group. He specialises in complex litigation and has wide-ranging experience across a full spectrum of industries and jurisdictions. Mr. Lawton regularly works on multibillion pound litigation, often cross-border in nature. His experience includes representing multinational corporates in large-scale corporate disputes, representing clients involved in shareholder/joint venture disputes and acting on litigation and investigations arising out of high-profile corporate collapses. He has acted for and against auditors, other professional advisers, directors, affiliate companies and financial institutions involved in such collapses.

He is recommended in the commercial litigation section of The Legal 500 UK (2020) which describes him as “a formidable force,” “an exceptional technical lawyer who is all over the detail of a case and has sound litigation instincts. Allied to that, he is an indomitable fighter who leaves no stone unturned for his clients. Clients want him on their team.”
