Shreya Aren is an associate in the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group and is based in the London office. Her practice focuses on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration.

Ms. Aren joined Debevoise in 2019, prior to which she was an associate in the International Arbitration department of a magic circle firm.

Recommended by The Legal 500 UK (2024) as a Rising Star, Ms. Aren has acted for corporate and state clients under a wide range of institutional rules including ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC and LCIA, as well as in ad-hoc arbitrations under the English Arbitration Act 1996. She has also acted in arbitration-related court proceedings, such as anti-suit injunctions and challenges to awards, before the English courts. She has experience across a number of different sectors, including energy, life sciences, telecommunications, insurance and financial services.

Ms. Aren graduated with a B.A., LL.B. honours degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore in 2012. She has undertaken work experience in different parts of the Indian legal sphere, including the Delhi High Court and the National Judicial Academy in Bhopal.

Ms. Aren was admitted as an advocate in India in 2012 and qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2014. As a solicitor-advocate, she exercises full rights of audience before all civil courts of England & Wales. She is fluent in English and Hindi.
