Tejas N. Dave is a corporate associate and a member of the Banking Group. Mr. Dave regularly advises large banking organizations on regulatory, governance and transactional matters, including permissibility of proposed investments or activities, capital treatment of bank exposures, Volcker Rule considerations for sponsoring or investing in funds, and supervisory expectations of boards of directors.In addition, Mr. Dave has represented banking industry trade associations in their advocacy efforts related to proposed rules and guidance on topics including capital requirements, long-term debt and climate-related financial risk. Mr. Dave joined Debevoise in 2022. Prior to law school, he worked at the Federal Reserve Board and at Capital One. Mr. Dave received a J.D. from Emory University School of Law with High Honors in 2022, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal. He received a B.A. with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley in 2016. Mr. Dave is the author of Rethinking Roadblocks to Municipal Bankruptcy, 38 Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal (2022) and a co-author of “OCC releases notice of proposed rulemaking on bank mergers,” Westlaw Today (March, 2024); “Takeaways For Banks From Feds' Basel-Adoption Proposal,” Law360 (August, 2023) and “Debevoise Discusses Proposed FDIC Guidelines for Corporate Governance and Risk Management,” CLS Blue Sky Blog (October, 2023).
