Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has produced a new video highlighting the firm’s pro bono program in 2023, including the work that it has done in collaboration with its longstanding legal services partners, clients and non-profit organizations.

In 2023, Debevoise lawyers in the U.S. provided over 99,000 hours of free legal services to individuals, nonprofit organizations and low-income entrepreneurs across more than 1,000 matters. These matters include securing a major victory for two transgender girls in their challenge to an Arizona state law that barred them from competing on girls’ sports teams, representing Accompany Capital in its participation in New York City’s Taxi Medallion Owner Relief Program, refinancing the loans and significantly reducing the debts of the medallion owners and filing an amicus curiae brief in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in an effort to protect the use of mifepristone.

Debevoise provides a wide array of pro bono legal services to marginalized communities and underserved populations on matters ranging from landmark international and national disputes to representations of low-income individuals. The firm also partners with clients on a range of corporate, litigation and tax pro bono matters in clinic settings, and on individual matters.
