The Amendments to the Russian laws on Personal Data and on Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information were adopted in July and will be entering into force from September 1, 2016.
The Amendments impose obligation of data domestication by requiring to use databases located in Russia for storage and processing of personal data of Russian citizens.
The Amendments trigger a substantial change in a company’s data operation processes and require the transfer of the data centers used for the processing of the Russian citizens personal data to Russia.
