Private messages at work can be read by European employers, the BBC reported recently, following a judgment from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Similar commentary was wide-spread in the mainstream media. So did the ECHR just issue a free licence to employers to read anything written by an employee during working hours or using an employer’s equipment?
