On March 30th, 2016, the US District Court for the District of Columbia announced that MetLife, the US insurance company designated as a non-bank systemically important financial institution (Sifi) by the US Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), had succeeded in its two-year legal battle against FSOC’s designation of MetLife as a non-bank Sifi.
