The Anti-Corruption Report: Corruption Enforcers Discuss Benefits and Pitfalls of Increasing International Cooperation

The recent edition of The Anti-Corruption Report (ACR) highlights the insights government speakers presented at the American Conference Institute International Conference on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and provides the other point of view from defense counsel around the world.

In a segment entitled, “International Laws in Conflict,” government speakers explained what their reactions would be if a DOJ request conflicted with the laws of another country. In response, Debevoise partner Kara Brockmeyer noted, “Conflicts between foreign laws, evidentiary standards and cooperation expectations are not a new issue, but they are ‘receiving additional attention as cross-border parallel investigations become the norm.’”
