The Wall Street Journal: PE Eyes Public Markets, Distressed Sectors for Deal Flow in 2019

7 January 2019
In a recent article for The Wall Street Journal, Debevoise partner Christopher Anthony addresses the outlook for private equity deal flow in 2019.

As we shift into a new year, take-private deals are expected to rise, spurred on by continued stock volatility and firms looking for increasingly creative ways to invest their capital. “If the public markets continue to trend downward in the way they have been, there might be more opportunities for those deals to take place,” explained Mr. Anthony. “As of yet, it doesn’t feel like much of an uptick.”

Mr. Anthony also contributed to the firm’s newly-released 2018/2019 Private Equity Year End Review and Outlook, which offers perspectives on a host of topics related to the successes and challenges of the private equity market in 2018, as well as expectations for 2019. Read the full report here.
