Katie Power is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Insurance and Financial Institutions Groups. Her practice focuses on complex corporate and transactional matters in the insurance and asset management industries. She advises (re)insurers, private equity firms, insurance intermediaries, start-ups and investors on multi-jurisdictional transactions and regulatory matters.
Ms. Power has extensive experience advising on public and private M&A transactions, reinsurance, complex carve-out transactions, reorganizations, sidecars, minority investments and joint ventures. She has also advised international insurance groups on their regulatory obligations and corporate governance matters including regulatory approvals, material outsourcing requirements, capital and collateral requirements under Solvency II/UK and the formation of insurers.
Ms. Power regularly contributes to Debevoise’s insurance publications and webinars. She also co-authored “ESG Considerations in the Insurance Industry,” Practical Law (October, 2023). Ms. Power is recognised for her work on insurance transactions by the Legal 500 UK (2025), with clients praising her for being “highly responsive, amiable and knowledgeable.”
Ms. Power has worked at Debevoise’s London and New York offices.
Ms. Power joined Debevoise as a trainee solicitor in 2017. She graduated from St. Catherine’s College, University of Oxford in 2015 and subsequently completed the GDL and LPC at BPP University Law School.
Ms. Power was admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2019.
