Sally Gibson, a London partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, has been named by The Lawyer magazine to its annual Hot 100 list, which recognizes the profession’s most innovative and inspirational lawyers.
The 2016 edition of the list includes lawyers from in-house, private practice and the bar, focussing on those who “have made an impact not just on the performance of their firms, companies or chambers, but also the wider business community”.
The Lawyer states that Ms. Gibson is “in a unique position to advise funds lawyers in London and Europe”, and that she “has become one of the market’s foremost experts on the regulatory changes shaping the global funds market”.
It’s the latest accolade for Ms. Gibson, having been named by Private Funds Management in its 30 Under 40 list in October, which recognised the top 30 private equity funds lawyers in the world under the age of 40.
Ms. Gibson is a member of the firm's Investment Management Group. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds, including buyout, real estate, infrastructure, energy, mezzanine and secondaries funds. Ms. Gibson has also advised on the restructuring of English investment managers and investment advisers and the acquisition of fund management groups. She has extensive experience working with clients to navigate the regulatory issues affecting the private equity and fund management sectors.
