Debevoise Women’s and Men’s Teams Excel in J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

1 June 2016

Women runners from Debevoise & Plimpton LLP placed second among all female teams that participated in the 2016 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, first among all women’s law firm teams, and fourth among all law firm teams (men and women). In addition, the Debevoise men’s team finished first among all law firm teams at the Challenge. The 3.2-mile J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge attracted a sold-out crowd of 15,000 participants from 329 companies.

The Debevoise women’s team finished with a combined time of 1:24:02 – placing second overall behind only Morgan Stanley – and one spot ahead of J.P. Morgan. The team consisted of Mary Beth Hogan, Jennifer A. Gong, Michelle M. Hillenbrand and Jessica A. O’Connell. The winning men’s team included Jonathan F. Lewis, Stephen Asoli, Benjamin R. Pedersen and Samuel Ethan Gelb. The score for each team is determined by adding together the finish times of the team’s top four members.

The 2016 Challenge marked the 40th consecutive year that the event has taken place. The first Corporate Challenge, held in 1977, attracted 200 entrants from 50 companies.
