Debevoise Partner Ina C. Popova Appointed to the ICC International Court of Arbitration

Debevoise partner Ina C. Popova has been appointed to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration as an alternate member representing Bulgaria. The Court was founded in 1923 and is regarded as the world’s leading arbitral institution, aiding in the resolution of international commercial and business disputes to support trade and investment. Ms. Popova will serve a three-year term.

The Court, for the first time in its history, reached full gender parity among members, with 88 women and 88 men. In an unprecedented generational shift, over 15% of the Court’s members are below 40 years of age.

Ms. Popova is recognized within the legal community as one of the top international lawyers of her generation. She has particular expertise in matters in the mining, energy, and technology, media and telecommunications sectors. She sits as arbitrator and serves as counsel in a broad range of international matters, focusing on international arbitration and litigation and public international law. She is dual-qualified in civil and common law.
