Debevoise Partner Ina Popova to Speak on “Twilight Issues” in International Arbitration at São Paulo Conference

17 October 2018

Debevoise & Plimpton partner Ina C. Popova will speak on “Twilight Issues in International Arbitration,” on 19 October 2018 at the FGV Escola de Direito in São Paulo, in the first conference of the “Twilight Issues” series to be hosted in Latin America. As the Brazilian arbitration market continues to grow and local companies increasingly move to arbitration to solve their disputes, the event will bring together leading practitioners and academics to discuss issues that are often not squarely addressed in the governing law, the institutional rules or the parties’ arbitration agreements. Ms. Popova’s panel will address key topics including arbitrator and counsel ethics and sanctions, corruption and third-party funding.

Ms. Popova is a partner in the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. Recognized in the legal community as one of the top international lawyers of her generation, she sits as arbitrator and serves as counsel in a broad range of international matters and has particular experience in disputes arising out of Latin America. Ms. Popova is a member of the ICC Court of Arbitration and is dual-qualified in common and civil law.
