Debevoise partners David W. Rivkin and Lord Goldsmith KC will address a host of arbitration-related topics at a series of events in India.

Mr. Rivkin, a member of the organization’s council, will speak at the plenary session of the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) Annual Conference, as well as a panel discussion exploring party autonomy in nominating arbitrators and conflicts. At the same event, Lord Goldsmith KC will participate in a debate on the timeline prescribed under the Indian Arbitration Act. He will also speak at the organization’s Young MCIA event “The Growth of International Arbitration: Trials and Triumphs.” Additionally, Lord Goldsmith KC will speak at The Permanent Court of Arbitration India Conference, covering inter-state arbitration and challenges in establishing the international rule of law.

Mr. Rivkin is Co-Chair of Debevoise’s International Dispute Resolution Group and The Immediate Past President of the International Bar Association (IBA). A litigation partner in the firm’s New York and London offices, Mr. Rivkin has broad experience in the areas of international litigation and arbitration. He is consistently ranked as one of the top international dispute resolution practitioners in the world.

Lord Goldsmith KC, PC, London Co-Managing Partner and Chair of European and Asian Litigation, joined Debevoise in September 2007. Lord Goldsmith served as the UK’s Attorney General from 2001–2007, prior to which he was in private practice as one of the leading barristers in London. He acts for a variety of clients, alongside his role as chair of the firm’s European and Asian litigation practices, in arbitration and litigation in the United Kingdom and other countries.
