Debevoise Partner Catherine Amirfar Elected to the International Council for Commercial Arbitration Governing Board

Debevoise & Plimpton partner Catherine Amirfar has been elected to the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Governing Board. The Board consists of recognized leaders in the field of dispute resolution and aims to improve the process of arbitration, conciliation and other forms of resolving international commercial disputes.

The election process began with nominations by Governing Board members and the identification of a shortlist by ICCA’s Nomination and Membership Committee. The candidates were then recommended to and approved by ICCA’s Executive Body. Thereafter, the candidates were elected by two-thirds majority of the full ICCA Governing Board.

Ms. Amirfar is a litigation partner in the International Dispute Resolution Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Public International Law Group. Her practice focuses on international commercial and treaty arbitration, international and complex commercial litigation and public international law.
