Debevoise Named One of the “60 Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother

16 July 2019

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has been recognized as one of the “60 Best Law Firms for Women” and was named a Hall of Fame honoree by Working Mother. The 12th annual list, released in conjunction with ABA Journal, recognizes firms utilizing best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers, including offering flexible work arrangements and targeted sponsorship programs. Hall of Famers have made the Working Mother “Best Law Firms for Women” list at least 10 times.

“It’s heartening to see the progress women lawyers are making at firms committed to fully utilizing these attorneys’ abilities,” said Meredith Bodgas, editor-in-chief of Working Mother. “The war for talent is increasing incentives for law firms to invest in retaining women lawyers, which is why we’re seeing more women’s initiatives and parental-support groups. By highlighting what our top firms are doing, we hope others in the legal community will follow.”

Debevoise has earned an enduring reputation for the strength of its women lawyers and the collaborative firm culture and flexible policies that have made possible the development of several generations of women leaders. Since 2008, 41% of Debevoise lawyers promoted to partner were women.
