Debevoise & Plimpton LLP financial institutions and banking counsel Alison Hashmall will serve as lead panel moderator at this month’s NYC Bar Banking Law Committee Panel. The program will feature a discussion on the Volcker Rule covered funds proposal, Volcker Rule 2.0 and related advocacy.
Alison will be joined by committee member Yosef Ibrahimi (Head of U.S. Bank Regulatory, Credit Suisse) and distinguished guests, Jennifer Reynolds (Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, JPMC) and Joerg Riegel (Head of Regulatory Initiatives – U.S., Societe Generale).
As counsel in the financial institutions and banking groups, Ms. Hashmall’s practice focuses on advising domestic and non-U.S. banking organizations and other financial institutions on a wide range of bank regulatory, policy and transactional matters. She has particular experience in matters relating to financial regulatory reform, including the Volcker Rule, total loss-absorbing capacity (TLAC), single-point of entry resolution strategies and the preparation of living wills. Her work includes representing the main trade organizations in the financial services industry, including the Financial Services Forum and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, in connection with advocacy efforts on regulatory and legislative proposals, and she has assisted clients in the policymaking process before federal regulators.
The Banking Law Committee explores current legal issues affecting banks and bank holding companies operating in the U.S. and abroad. Committee members have been drawn from law firms, financial institutions, state and federal banking agencies, legal aid groups and law schools (professors and students) and represents diverse viewpoints. The Committee selects topics for discussion at monthly meetings and invites guest speakers to present on that topic.
