Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and MetLife recently participated in a virtual Emergency Rent Assistance Program application clinic with Legal Services NYC to help New York tenants facing eviction access financial assistance. The clinic is part of the New York State Business Council for Access to Justice’s efforts to address the looming housing and eviction crisis in response to Attorney General Merrick Garland’s recent call-to-action. Fifteen MetLife employees and 14 Debevoise lawyers and staff participated in the clinic.
Founded in 1968, Legal Services NYC fights poverty and seeks racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers.
