Debevoise & Plimpton LLP litigation partner Mary Jo White has been named the recipient of the “Greatest Impact on Corporate Boards” award by Corporate Board Member, in partnership with AlixPartners, as part of its annual Board Leadership Awards. Read her Q&A feature here.

Selected by a distinguished panel of public company board members, Ms. White is being recognized for her longstanding leadership in corporate governance reform and her commitment to advancing enforcement in shareholder matters, including during her tenure as Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. White is being honored for her pivotal role in helping launch the SEC’s Universal Proxy Card rule and her work to promote accountability and transparency on Wall Street.

The Board Leadership Awards honor individuals and organizations driving meaningful impact across the governance landscape. This year’s awards will be presented on September 18 at the 21st Annual Boardroom Summit in Washington, D.C.

A former Chair of the SEC and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Ms. White advises boards, special committees, and companies on sensitive and complex white collar and civil matters, including government investigations, contested board elections, regulatory compliance and enforcement actions.
