The ceremony honored law firms that have excelled in the U.S. legal market over the last year and recognized practices for their outstanding work, notable strategic growth and distinction in client service.
The award underscores a period of significant growth for Debevoise’s Global Funds team, which is coming off of a record-breaking year, advising on more than 100 private funds targeting more than $125 billion in commitments in 2018. In addition to being recognized as the Investment Funds Law Firm of the Year, Chambers describes the practice as “absolutely top notch” and an “extraordinarily talented group of people.” Debevoise’s top-tier Global Funds practice is a central part of the firm’s broader global private equity group that includes more than 200 lawyers across corporate, tax and litigation disciplines. According to Chambers, the team “has pretty much unmatched market knowledge, and is able to creatively tackle the toughest problems and get to a commercial outcome.”
This year has continued to be a year of expansion for the global funds practice. The team, including leading funds partners Rebecca F. Silberstein, David J. Schwartz, Jonathan Adler and Andrew M. Ahern, welcomed highly regarded funds partners Lorna Bowen, Justin Storms and Andrew Ford to the New York office in April and recently announced the promotion of Jane Engelhardt to partner, effective July 1, 2019.
