Experience

- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., CH2M Hill Companies, Ltd., and CH2M Hill International, Ltd. in defending three related actions in the District of Colorado alleging violations of the TVPRA in connection with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
- The former CEO of Valeant Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health) in litigation related to Valeant Pharmaceuticals’ accounting and financial statement disclosures.
- MSCHF in an appeal to the Second Circuit from the district court’s preliminary injunction order against MSCHF's Wavy Baby artworks, which Vans alleged violated the trademarks and trade dress of its Old Skool sneakers.
- Arcesium in a trade secret and breach of contract litigation dispute brought by SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. and its affiliate Advent Software.

Alessandra G. Masciandaro is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group. She has represented clients across a range of industries, including cryptocurrency, FinTech, and the pharmaceutical industry, in matters involving a diverse range claims including complex contract disputes, securities fraud claims, and intellectual property disputes. Ms. Masciandaro also maintains a robust pro bono practice, regularly representing criminal defendants in bringing motions for a sentence reduction and civil plaintiffs in landlord-tenant disputes.Ms. Masciandaro joined Debevoise in 2021. She received her J.D. magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif at Seton Hall University School of Law. While in law school, she competed on the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and served as spring symposium editor of the Seton Hall Law Review, an advocate in the FINRA Investor Advocacy Project, co-president of the Intellectual Property Law Association, and a fellow at the Institute for Privacy Protection. Upon graduation, she received the American Law Institute CLE Scholarship and Leadership Award in recognition of her outstanding scholarship and leadership. She earned her B.A. with honors from Douglass College, Rutgers University. Prior to law school, she worked as an educator.Ms. Masciandaro is the author of "Cleaning-Up After Carpenter: Personal Data as Property Under the Fourth Amendment," 51 Seton Hall L. Rev. 1241 (2021). She is also co-author of several publications, including“California’s Age-Appropriate Design Code Act Expands Businesses’ Privacy Obligations Regarding Minors,” NYU Compliance & Enforcement (Sept., 2022);“Debevoise Discusses What the ADPPA Means for U.S. Data Regulation,” Columbia Blue Sky Blog (July, 2022);“Utah Joins the Comprehensive State Privacy Law Club,” NYU Compliance & Enforcement (May, 2022) and “Functionality Crumbles Under Pocky,” Landslide Magazine, Vol. 14, No. 1 (Sept./Oct.).Ms. Masciandaro is a member of the Bars of New York and New Jersey. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the District of Colorado.
