Alfie Scott is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. Mr. Scott’s practice focuses on advising corporates and asset managers on financial and ESG-related regulation in the UK and the EU. 

In particular, Mr. Scott plays a prominent role in the firm’s ESG practice, with particular experience in novel and complex areas of law arising from the EU’s Sustainable Finance Framework, for example on SFDR, CSRD and the Taxonomy Regulation. He also advises clients on greenwashing and other sector/product-specific sustainability regulations. Mr. Scott regularly co-authors and contributes to industry publications, most recently co-authoring a chapter on “Addressing ESG Considerations in the M&A Context” for Global Legal Insights in August 2026, as well as firm publications on a variety of ESG-related topics. He also advises clients on private fund-related aspects of European and UK financial regulation, for example on AIFMD, MiFID and FCA rules. 

Mr. Scott joined Debevoise as a trainee solicitor in 2022 and completed his training in the firm’s London office. He graduated from the University of St Andrews with an MA (Hons) in 2020. He completed the GDL and LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in 2021 and 2022 respectively. 

Mr. Scott was admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2024.
