Anjali A. Mehta is an associate in the Litigation Department with a focus on international disputes and public international law.
Ms. Mehta joined Debevoise in 2020. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2020, where she was a Human Rights Scholar, an International Law and Human Rights Fellow, senior developments editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics, and an oralist and coach of the International Criminal Court Moot Court team. She received a B.A magna cum laude and with honors from American University in 2015.
Ms. Mehta is on the Executive Committee of the American Society of International Law's Lieber Society and the Steering Committee of the Society's NY Chapter.
Ms. Mehta is a co-author of "Arbitrary Detention of Asylum Seekers Perpetuates the Torture of Family Separation," Just Security (March, 2019). Ms. Mehta presented "A Movement Toolbox for Lawyers: Engaging With Our Law and Our Humanity" at Yale Law's Rebellious Lawyering Conference in 2018, and was a panelist at the CCNY Critical Perspectives on Human Rights Conference in 2019.
Ms. Mehta received a Fulbright Grant to Brazil in 2016 and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
