Anu Chugh is a law clerk in the Litigation Department.

Ms. Chugh joined Debevoise in 2022. Ms. Chugh received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2022, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. At Columbia, Ms. Chugh was the President of the South Asian Law Students Association and a member of the Columbia Law School Anti-Racism Steering and Coordinating Committees. Ms. Chugh was also a notes editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and a coach of Columbia’s Frederick Douglass Moot Court. She received a B.A. summa cum laude from Rutgers University in 2019.

Ms. Chugh is the author of Risk Assessment Tools: An Algorithmic Solution to the Due Process Problem in Immigration, COLUM. HUMAN RIGHTS L. REV. ONLINE  (2022); co-author of Courtroom Workgroups: A Prosecutor, a Defense Attorney, and a Judge Walk into a Bar in OXFORD HANDBOOKS OF PROSECUTORS AND PROSECUTION (2021); and co-author of In the Eyes of the Law: The Effects of Body-Worn Cameras on Police Behavior, Citizen Interactions, and Privacy, 54 CRIM. L. BULL. 584 (2019).

Ms. Chugh is fluent in Hindi.
