Debevoise has extensive experience advising foreign banking organizations on regulatory, transactional and compliance issues affecting their businesses in the United States. The firm advised on the first acquisition by a foreign bank approved by the Federal Reserve under the new “systemic risk factor” in the Dodd-Frank Act. Debevoise lawyers have particular experience advising foreign banks on anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance issues, and author the AML and Sanctions chapter of the seminal treatise, Regulation of Foreign Banks and Affiliates in the United States.
