In addition to the firm’s long history representing public companies, Debevoise has deep experience representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies in equity sales structured as part of the private equity firm’s investment and exit activities. Debevoise also frequently acts as designated underwriters’ counsel for public companies who appreciate the firm’s commitment to understanding the company, its management and the issues impacting its business and industry, in addition to the Group’s ability to act as an integral part of an efficient and effective execution team. Many of Debevoise’s designated underwriter representations are for companies in industries where the firm has market leading expertise, such as insurance, or for private equity portfolio companies where the firm’s market leading private equity expertise and market knowledge allows it to efficiently navigate the issues inherent in the transactions.
