Elaine Guthie is an English-qualified associate in the firm’s Tax Department and is based in the London office.

Ms. Guthrie joined Debevoise in 2026. Ms Guthrie received her BAcc from the University of Glasgow in 2001. Ms Guthrie went on to receive her PGDL in 2023 and her LL.M. in 2024 from the University of Law. She completed the SQE in 2024.  

Ms. Guthrie is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Ms. Guthrie also holds Luxembourg tax qualifications from the Chambre des Salariés. Prior to law school, Ms. Guthrie worked in banking and for a ‘big four’ accountancy firm.  

Ms. Guthrie was admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2026.
