7 April 2015
View Client Update
The European Competition Commissioner (Margrethe Vestager) has announced her intention to launch an inquiry into the e-commerce sector that will focus on identifying and addressing private – and in particular contractual – barriers to cross-border online commerce.
The Commission under the Presidency of Jean-Claude Juncker has made it a priority to remove obstacles to the free movement of goods and services in the digital space.
The results of the sector inquiry, which is likely to continue for more than a year, will inform the Commission’s wider digital enforcement and policy agenda.
