Global Ransomware Attack: Essential Steps To Manage The Risks
14 May 2017
View Client Update
Diligent and prompt system patching, frequent and carefully arranged system backups, and employee vigilance regarding emails are top priorities in avoiding and mitigating the risks of ransomware.
Response to a ransomware incident is not limited to technical measures, but also includes making legal and business decisions related to any consideration of paying a ransom, making any appropriate disclosures, and proper handling of an internal investigation.
Preparation for a ransomware attack should be part of a comprehensive cybersecurity program that includes an incident response plan, regular testing of the plan in simulated exercises, and identification of key internal stakeholders and external support before an incident occurs.
