Debevoise & Plimpton LLP presents an overview of the five most significant developments in Russian legal regulation and court practice in the real estate, construction and infrastructure sectors in the first six months of 2021.
The overview discusses amendments to the Law on State Registration of Immovable Property, expansion and clarification of a number of provisions for the state support of investments, including changes to the APPI, PSEDA and SPIC, and the reduction of the scope of mandatory requirements in construction.
The Russian Constitutional Court ruled on an issue important for the real estate market in respect of protection of bona fide purchasers of immovable property who acquired such property from owners who had failed to obtain spousal consent for its alienation.
In addition, changes in legislation are presently on their way aimed at determining the legal status of apartment hotel units and multifunctional buildings.
