Jacob Dougherty is a corporate associate and member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group.
Mr. Dougherty joined Debevoise in 2022. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2022, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, served as the lead executive editor for the Pittsburgh Law Review and received the Robert Maxwell DeBroff Prize for achievement in corporate law and the William H. Eckert Prize for writing. Mr. Dougherty received a B.A. cum laude from American University in 2012.
Mr. Dougherty’s published articles include “Special Committee Report,” Harvard Forum on Corporate Governance (February, 2024) and “Can Lockstep Find Its Footing Again? Why the Lockstep Compensation Model Creates a Culture for Providing Better Legal Services,” University of Pittsburgh Law Review Volume 84 Issue 1 (2023).
Prior to law school, Mr. Dougherty was the executive director of a nonprofit organization and was named to the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s 2019 list of 40 Under 40: People Saving Places.
