Jeff Leung is an associate in the Litigation Department and is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.Mr. Leung is an experienced litigator, successfully representing clients in complex commercial and IP litigations at both the trial and appellate court levels. He has successfully represented clients in a variety of commercial, patent, and trade secret disputes in federal district courts, state courts, and federal agencies, including securing dismissal of a patent infringement matter at the pleadings stage, obtaining dismissal of a compilation trade secret matter at the summary judgment stage, and vacating a damages award post-trial. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Leung was software engineer for a Fortune 500 company, working on developing its ecommerce website. As a U.S.P.T.O.-registered patent attorney with technology work experience, he routinely advises high-tech clients, start-ups, and entrepreneurs on how to protect and enforce their intellectual property rights.Mr. Leung joined Debevoise in 2024. From 2007 to 2008 he clerked for the Hon. Richard B. Lowe, III, in the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division. From 2008 to 2010 he clerked for the Hon. Eileen Bransten, in the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division. Mr. Leung received a J.D. from Rutgers Law School – Newark – in 2007. He received a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University in 2004 and his Bachelor’s degree in Management Economics from U.C. Davis in 2000.Mr. Leung is a member of the Bars of California and New York and is admitted to practice in the Ninth Circuit, Second Circuit, Northern and Central Districts of California, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and United States Patent and Trademark Office.
