Johanna Marniok is a senior associate in the Frankfurt office and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department. She is also a member of the firm’s Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions Groups. Her practice focuses on national and cross-border mergers & acquisitions and general corporate law matters.

Ms. Marniok advises German and international corporates and financial investors on the full spectrum of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and general corporate matters, with a special focus on private equity transactions. She is a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups. Ms. Marniok regularly advises clients on various aspects of commercial law matters.

Ms. Marniok joined the firm in early 2017. Prior to joining Debevoise, she was a senior associate with another major international law firm, where she advised on several cross-border M&A transactions with a special focus on the automotive and infrastructure industries.

Ms. Marniok’s publications include “Zur Formunwirksamkeit der Beurkundung einer Geschäftsanteilsübertragung in der Schweiz und Einreichung einer neuen Gesellschafterliste,” GmbHR (2011). She is also the co-author of the German chapter of The Legal 500: Mergers & Acquisitions Country Comparative Guide (2018).

Ms. Marniok graduated from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main (First State Examination) and was admitted to the German Bar in 2009. She is a member of the Frankfurt Bar Association. Her native language is German, and she is fluent in English.
